Signing
Using signs
can increase your sales by 50% or more. Printed signs are
better than handwritten signs. Signs with bright colors will
draw more attention.
Use printed
signs on displays if the items are 20% off or more, or if
they are one price point. You should use ½ off instead of
50% for signing. Studies have shown this to increase sales.
For higher ticket items, using WAS, Now, You Save can be
effective. Here is an example:
Was
$179
Now
$99
You
save $80
Change your
reader board at least twice weekly, if you have one.
Sometimes, it is as simple as changing on what is on each
side. You could print a sign on
your computer monthly showing your customers how much they save with the discounts
during the year. For the first 3 months of 2009, you should
use the year-end figures of 2008. You might want to put this
in several spots in your store and perhaps on the front
door.
I would use
the back side of your window sign for other signs.
Otherwise, inside the store, you will
just see an empty back. You could list your web site
address, store hours just to name a few. Letting your
customers know that you are eco-friendly would be advisable
also. For example, you could list the amount of items you
have recycled in the current year.
If you used
rebates, you should make a sign showing the regular price,
Rebate amount and the net price after rebate.
Signs do not
need to be just about a price. They could have more
details on a product or service. For
example, signs can be used to help you sell additional items
with purchase. For example, with a toy display, it could
remind them about needing batteries. Other examples would
include film with a camera, paint brush with
paint, dog
treats with dog food or hangover relief by alcoholic
products to name a few.
LED Signs
The most cost effective advertising by far is
electronic message centers according to the Small Business
Administration. Large businesses have taken advantage of
this fact for years. LED Signs can increase sales for many
businesses 20-40% and can be purchased starting at $59
monthly. For example, if you do $20,000 monthly, would you
like an extra $4,000-$8,000 of revenue
monthly?
LED Signs uses 75-80% less electricity than a
neon sign. They are easy to use and cool to the
touch.
In
fact, smart business people use financing to buy a LED sign.
The reason is this. Besides, the down payment, the increase
in sales will more than cover the costs of the LED sign. You
can find a large selection of LED signs
