Every person
in the world devotes hours to thinking of their future and
their present situation in life. Almost everyone wishes
there was something they could
change in their life. Whether
it is their family life; their friendships; relationships
or finances, everyone wants to
change something. The first step to doing that is to set
goals.
However, many
are great at trying to set goals; most of us are
incapable of following through with
them.Think about it. How many
times have you decided on a course of action and did not follow through with it? That
is much the norm for most people.
Sometimes
setting goals is the harder part of accomplishing any. The
easiest way of looking at goal setting is to think of each
New Year.
The largest
part of New Year’s celebrations is not the parties and the
get-togethers; it is in the resolutions. As much as we like
to attend and talk about New Years Eve parties, the most
common source of conversation is the resolutions for the New
Year. All it is code talk for new goals that need to be set.
The problem is that most of us set the same resolutions
yearly, and every year, we are unsuccessful. After all, if
we were successful; why would we need to keep making the
same resolutions year after year?
Are not you
getting tired of trying to set goals for you and always
finding that you have to do it again almost every other
month? If you think that goals are a lot of work for
something that is merely an expression of what you ALREADY
KNOW you want, think about the findings reported in a recent
study:
90% of
SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE report that they DO SET GOALS
Whereas
90% of
the PEOPLE who reported FAILING in business, or failing to
achieve a personal dream or feeling as if they are
FLOUNDERING in their life, reported that they DID NOT SET
GOALS.
No doubt ‘Goal Setting’ is a powerful tool for
professional and personal planning and
achievement.
By setting goals you
can:
• Achieve
more in your lifetime
• Improve
your performances in life
•
Increase your motivation to achieve the most out of
life
• Increase
your pride and satisfaction in your achievements
• Improve
your self-confidence
• Plan to
erase attitudes that hold you back and cause
unhappiness
People who use goal-setting
effectively:
• suffer less
from stress and anxiety
• concentrate
and focus better
self-confidence
• perform
better in all areas of life
• Are happier
and more satisfied with life
